It is a rare occurrence when I find a piece of clothing I wear five times in less than two weeks….but that is just what happened with this rose gold Polder blouse! I spotted this beauty hanging from the racks of the gorgeous new Abejas space (Go now to check out the new digs if you haven’t yet been; it is truly one of the prettiest boutiques I’ve ever seen!), and I thought it was stunning but not necessarily “me.” So on to the fitting room I went without it. But I kept thinking about it! Thinking about how even though it is metallic and shiny and bright and totally a statement piece, it is actually quite versatile and probably just what I needed for all of the fun holiday events on my calendar. I really love when I prove myself right! I have since worn it to a luncheon, a friend’s birthday party, a holiday cocktail party, dinner with friends, and even Sunday church services with a black blazer to tone down the bling. And the holidays aren’t even close to being over yet!
I especially love how this top looks with these Rag & Bone “Dre” skinny boyfriend jeans: fancy on top, grungy on bottom…kind of like an outfit mullet! The cooler weather we’ve had lately gave me a great excuse to top this pretty blouse with a fur vest, and the always chic Stuart Weitzman Nudistsong sandals immediately made me feel dressed up and party ready.
For events where jeans just won’t do, I love how this top looks tucked into a pretty skirt like this pleated leather J. Crew one. The blazer of course gives it a bit more of a structured vibe, while the over-the-knee boots pull it all together! The combo of blush and burgundy is always a favorite of mine, and I like a crossbody for daytime dressy events. I was really pleased with how this look turned out and allowed the top to shine even with a jacket. I must say, I’m glad I went back for this top…what would I be wearing all holiday season otherwise?!
With NYE coming up, metallics provide the perfect festive accessory for your sparkling bubbles, so I’ve linked several other fun gold pieces below. I especially love this pair of gold lame Topshop trousers and this pretty little gold lace dress. Perfect for any NYE antics you may have up your (gold) sleeve!
