Y’all, I cannot handle this dreary weather anymore! What is going on? I’ve loved that Houston has actually had a winter this year, loved bundling up and building fires, loved wearing sweaters and boots. But I need a little sunlight! When it comes back, here’s what I plan to wear: white, white, and more white! White linen really is the epitome of springtime, and my favorite way to transition to the warming weather is to pair it with a little leather and some black accessories. It says “I’m so over winter, but I’m still too chilled to bare my toes or expose my arms.”
What’s a girl to do when we’re already on the flip side of daylight savings but Mother Nature refuses to spring forward too? My solution is to move on into spring with lighter and brighter pastel colors while keeping my fabrics warm and cozy. I am a big believer of breaking the “no white after Labor Day or before Easter” rule. In my opinion, it totally depends on the weight and texture of the fabric, and to me, denim is a year-round fabric, no matter the color. I love white jeans all the time, and I have worn this pair just as much in the winter as during the summer!
Booties are a weekday go to for me because I can chase after my kids all day but still look put together at the playground. This pair has been in heavy rotation since I got them because they are SO super comfortable! I love this neutral gray, but I had to stop myself from getting them in every color!
What I love most about this outfit is that it is truly a look that can be dressed up or down and can easily go from day through evening. On the day I wore this look, I drove carpool, grocery shopped, and took kids to gymnastics and ballet. I had a meeting to attend that evening, and after a quick change of shoes and accessories, I had a polished look at the ready without having to think about it!
