Back in the day, black jeans were not something I was very interested in wearing. In fact, they sort of scared me! I thought they gave off too much of a “heavy metal” vibe and just didn’t seem to fit into my wardrobe. I am so glad I had a change of heart because this pair by Rag & Bone has quickly become a staple in my everyday look, as well as a favorite to wear out on the town. They are called “The Plush Legging Jean,” and I can attest to the accuracy of that description. The soft cotton and modal blend feels almost like a light velvet, but they are very lightweight and will easily carry over into spring and summer. They really do feel like a legging but provide the structure of a jean! Although I am normally not a big fan of jeans with significant stretch because they always seem to slip down and need constant adjustments, these jeans are a perfect fit and the mid-rise design helps keep them sitting on the waistline without any pulling or tugging. The faux front pockets were perplexing at first, but after wearing them, I wish more denim makers would incorporate this design. It completely streamlines the look and is so slimming….who doesn’t want that in a jean?! They really are the perfect pair of jeans, and I’m counting down the days until Rag & Bone makes them in additional washes!
I wore these jeans out to dinner earlier this week, and at the last minute, I grabbed my favorite white blazer. The seasonless silk fabric makes it perfect for Houston’s ever-changing weather. This jacket is a staple in my wardobe because it has such a beautiful drape, and it goes with just about anything. There is now a longer version available, which is a little more “cool girl” and oh so chic!
By the way, for dinner we went to North Italia, which recently opened in BLVD Place. If you haven’t made your way there yet, get a reservation NOW! The atmosphere was fab and the food was amazing, but the service was what impressed me most. Everyone, from the valet drivers and hostess to the bartender and waitstaff, was SO friendly and genuinely seemed eager and happy to be there. What a difference that makes in a dining experience! Although North is a small scale chain restaurant, it had a unique vibe and didn’t feel manufactured. I will most definitely be back!
