Although Houston is having its first real winter in quite a few years (which I have LOVED!), we’re starting to get hints that spring is on its way. Little League has kicked off, Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo is just around the corner, and gala season is in full swing. When trying to decide what to wear for a dressy but not formal event, an L.B.B. (Little Black Blazer) is key for adding a little polish to any look. I often reach for my favorite Theory black blazer to pull a look together. Springtime, however, gives us a great opportunity to think outside the L.B.B. box! What better way than pretty pastels?!
I’m loving the peachy blush hue of this A.L.C. velvet jacket! Although velvet is often seen on winterwear, this jacket is lightweight, and the pretty color just screams spring and is so flattering to boot. It’s kind of like walking around with your own candlelight! The long drapey cut and oversized pockets add touches of chic and turn even a super basic outfit into a wow look! I paired it with black cropped Theory trousers and a white tank, but I also think it would look amazing over a cool girl maxi dress and of course paired with white jeans. The matching pants are beyond fabulous, and both are available at Abejas Boutique. I think the two pieces together make such a stunning statement!
By the way, how fun is this cute bird embroidered clutch? Anyone who knows me knows birds are NOT my thing, but after seeing this in Nordstrom, I couldn’t quit thinking about it! It’s now on sale at Nordstrom — 50% off! It definitely adds interest to an outfit of basics!
