Sweater weather has finally arrived (!!), and I was thrilled to break out this super fun bell sleeved sweater by Endless Rose! I purchased it a few months ago, but Texas didn’t get the autumn memo…so in my closet it has remained until this week. The sleeves of course caught my eye, but the price was also just right. And though it’s not cashmere, it feels like it! I have worn it three times in the past week, from a Hamilton performance in NYC to church services this morning, and I’m not sure I’ve ever gotten so many compliments on an outfit. I certainly don’t choose my clothing for that purpose, but it sure does make a girl feel good! The statement sleeve is strong right now with everyone from Elizabeth & James to MANGO to Club Monaco showcasing this look. It’s a great way to dress up jeans, and it made a perfect Sunday outfit with an oldie but goodie black a-line skirt, black tights, and the cutest Louise et Cie oxfords I got over the summer during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! I also can’t stop wearing these fabulous pink fringe earrings from Noonday Collection. I received these as a birthday gift last month, and I can’t believe I’ve never shopped Noonday before now. It is an amazing company, with amazing jewelry designs. Their story is super cool and inspiring, and I encourage you to check them out!
I just got home from our church’s annual pre-Thanksgiving Agape Feast. Agape, as referenced in the New Testament, is selfless, unconditional love, and what a wonderful time of year to enjoy fellowship and love before the hectic holiday season officially begins. Together, we read the following about gratitude from Max Lucado. What a wonderful message!
A grateful heart sees each day as a gift. Thankful people focus less on what they lack and more on the privileges they have…The grateful heart is like a magnet sweeping over the day, collecting reasons for gratitude. A zillion diamonds sparkle against the velvet of your sky every night. Thank you, God. A miracle of muscles enables your eyes to read these words and your brain to process them. Thank you, God. Your lungs inhale and exhale eleven thousand liters of air every day. Your heart will beat about thee billion times in your lifetime. Your brain is a veritable electric generator of power. Thank you, God…Gratitude gets us through the hard stuff. To reflect on your blessings is to rehearse God’s accomplishments. To rehearse God’s accomplishments is to discover his heart. To discover his heart is to discover not just good gifts but the Good Giver. Gratitude always leaves us looking at God and away from dread. It does to anxiety what the morning sun does to valley mist. It burns it up…Join the ranks of the ten percent who give God a standing ovation. “Give thanks for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (Ephesians 5:20)
