Let me just start with….this Mirth Caftan is EVERYTHING!!! I recently discovered this inspired caftan line, created by two adorable Houston sisters (LOVE that!), while reading last month’s PaperCity issue. I was intrigued and couldn’t wait to check out these beautiful dresses. The next morning, I was introduced to one of these fabulous sisters as we worked out next to each other at DEFINE. That was enough coincidence for me…I headed to Brooke Feather as soon as the line was available, and the rest is history!
What I love about these caftans, aside from the fact that they are so incredibly chic, is the story behind them. Created from artisan-made textiles, these ethically-sourced pieces are inspired by the designers’ travels to India. This handmade block print is a work of art, and knowing a portion of the profits goes back to the village of these artisans by way of an education initiative makes me feel even better about wearing this beauty!
In just a few short weeks, this ultimate “travel dress” has quickly become a staple, taking me from a mild spring-morning Houston fete to the hot and dusty desert of the Coachella Valley. Wrinkling is minimal, and the lightweight fabric makes this a no brainer to stow in your luggage for all of your summer adventures. I paired it with my go-to Sam Edelman booties, but a metallic wrap sandal would be perfect as well. I also love the idea of dressing this caftan up with strappy heels and an elegant bun. However you style this pretty piece, the effect is effortless and cool and inspired!
