Summertime comes early here in the concrete jungle, and that means two things: the obvious hot and muggy Gulf Coast weather and the absolutely frigid temps that can sometimes sneak up on us when we go indoors. The A/C in Houston office buildings and restaurants usually feels colder than any January polar vortex we might happen to endure, so traveling with a jacket or scarf is a must. My white blazer is a warm weather staple I like to keep in my car to stave off those ridiculous manufactured arctic blasts! It also kicks any outfit up a notch when your plans involve a fancier evening out.
For the steamy summer days (and nights), there is no better outfit than a breezy romper. I spotted this TopShop tropical print jumpsuit at Nordstrom recently, and I knew it would become a go-to for my summer wardrobe. The lightweight fabric and flowy fit make it perfect for the heat, and it’s super stylish to boot!
I have recently been pushing myself more toward prints and patterns, and the palm leaf print on this jumpsuit is just so fun! It reminds me a little of the Golden Girls, but in a good way! I have noticed this tropical pattern all over the place lately — I especially love the combo of this Vince Camuto blazer and shorts, as well as this dress and swimsuit. You really can’t go wrong with this classic green and white print!
